The Author's Bio:

Creator of the Octologue, an 8-line syllabic form of poetry, Patricia Gomes has been published in countless literary journals, both in print and electronically. 

Currently the Editor of Adagio Verse Quarterly, she was awarded First Place in iVillage's Annual Poetry Slam in 2002 and 2003.  In 2004, she earned Second Place.  In 2005, Ms. Gomes was awarded 2nd place in The Narrows Center of the Arts poetry contest in Fall River, MA with her poem, Elsie Cardoza.

A member of the Massachusetts State Poetry Society and the Cape Cod Literary Press, Patricia's poem One Man's Claret is a 2008 Pushcart Prize nominee.  Her 2004 chapbook, Stroking Castro's Beard is still available for sale.  Click on the title for purchasing information.

Recent publications include short stories and poetry in Shadow Keep Magazine, Zygote in My CoffeeDark Krypt, Literary Potpourri, Boston Poet, Underground Window, Unlikely 2.0Scorched Earth, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's Temper Review, Animus, Mannequin Envy, and the Muse Apprentice Guild (The MAG).   The inaugural issue of Lorraine and James - Global Urban Literature included her poem, For (insert your name here), I Did Know You.  Patricia's co-authored the chapbook, Simple Truth and Coughing Things with Michael Paul Ladanyi.  It was published by Little Poem Press in March 2005.

Her latest chap, A Scheduled Departure, is available in electronic form as a free download from Lily Press.
